Ellen P. Holton

Executive Director

Ellen leads the CSC as Executive Director, creating, directing and implementing the organization’s strategic vision. Ellen has extensive experience in education reform in the public, charter and urban Catholic school spaces. As part of the Specialty Family Foundation’s Catholic Schools Capacity Building Initiative, she spent six years as Director of Marketing and Development at St. Odilia School, dedicated to raising enrollment, developing programs and increasing funding streams to ensure the school’s sustainability. Before taking on her current role, Ellen held the position of Director of Development and Communications at the Center for Powerful Public Schools, providing services to schools and districts in Greater Los Angeles and across California to develop, implement and sustain personalized, high-performing schools that advance public education and ensure student success. Ellen is a member of Loyola Marymount University - School of Education, Board of Visitors; Co-Leader of the LA Catholic Funder’s Group Leadership Innovation Team; and Board Member of Los Angeles Metropolitan Churches. Ellen believes that with a focus on equity and access to quality education, meaningful opportunities for all students can be created, regardless of the zip codes in which they live.

Joseph P. Berg

Assistant Director

Joseph is our Assistant Director managing the organization’s internal operations and coordinating program implementation with our partners and school clients. Joseph believes that solid spiritual, intellectual, and emotional formation is the foundation to living a meaning- filled life, and Catholic education plays a vital role in laying this foundation. A native Angeleno with a commitment to service, he sees his role with the CSC as an opportunity to aid in building a better future for his home city.
